All my life I've had a special relation to the nature, especially to the Caucasian mountains. I was raised with mountain hikes and have made over 10 longer hikes in Caucasus since the age of 17. My best trip was in 1995 when I spent over 30 days in the mountains, distancing over a 100 kilometers from Krasnaya polyana/Adler to Maykop/Adygeya. We had no schedule, only a flexible hiking plan and went our own way through the mountains. It was a neat trip and a great adventure.

My biggest interest is definitely hiking and mountaineering. It all started when I was very young and my parents brought me out in the wilderness. I was brought up with mountain hikes, canoeing trips and all kind of outdoor activities. Nowadays I'm into a mixture of hiking and backcountry skiing. A hike without a summit climb. Winter or summer, it doesn't matter. I also enjoy long distance walking in a wild, it's fun, but I still see it as a way to train for hiking. It's the same with indoor sports; just a way to train for the real mountains.

I'm also a vivid dreamer, have always been. A few of my dreams have been fulfilled, but far too less! What I really would like to do is hiking in the Himalayas. You can always buy yourself into an expedition, but I have no chance whatsoever to save that kind of money from my work!

I'm starting to think that I don't have to reject such offers!
